Over the past ten years, reclaimed wood furniture has become insanely popular in the US, and for good reason! It brings a one-of-a-kind look to your home that just isn’t possible to replicate with new wood.
Besides beauty, the environmental savings of buying pieces made with reclaimed wood is an eco-friendly reason to choose this style of furniture. Keeping wood and materials out of landfills is well-aligned with our mission of buying and selling locally with Trove Market.
We set personal preference aside and interviewed top reclaimed wood furniture makers Vince’s Woodwork and Vintage Addiction, and hobbyist and small business Reclaimed Wood Furniture, for their thoughts on the matters of finding and buying reclaimed wood, finding the right piece, and care and maintenance once you’ve purchased your reclaimed beauty.
Here’s what they had to say… We hope this helps you search for – and find – reclaimed wood furniture you can really fall in love with.
DIY home decor design and blog Arts & Classy, run by Meredith Greenberg, is a resource for practical interior design inspiration. Last week, Meredith discovered Trove and used it to score a coffee table she needed for a pretty crafty DIY project.
Meredith – who’s originally from Dallas, and raised in Los Angeles – quickly found interior design to be her true passion, and has been in full pursuit of that passion ever since. She has built Arts and Classy on her dream of creating a high-end look for much less, which she does by finding (and chronicling) cost-effective DIY projects to achieve the look on a dime.
In her words, “I am on a mission to prove that you do not need a lot of $$ to decorate your home beautifully. You just have to be creative and know where to look.”
Last week, when Meredith downloaded Trove, she fell in love with the fact that she could find awesome second hand and vintage items nearby. Pretty quickly, she actually found an amazing two-level coffee table in great condition, that was less than 6 months old! Read more about her experience and get step-by-step instructions on the project, after the jump!
Whether you’ve lived in LA or spent time visiting, it’s easy to spot the diverse culture that spans over the city’s 500 square miles.
This makes shopping furniture an experience unlike any other in the US. For example, you can find a mid-century modern piece of furniture in WeHo that is much different than the Arts District of Downtown.
We’re started off the new year with a bang by doing extensive online research about interior design with a purpose of seeing how it’s related to vintage furniture.

69% of seniors who graduated from public and nonprofit colleges in 2013 had student loan debt, averaging $28,400 per borrower. College was an unforgettable experience that we’d do over again if possible. It was a safe place to explore new opportunities and build relationships that could last a lifetime.
